Elena’s Story

For more than 40 years, Elena Marceau has painted portraits from her quiet cottage in Provence.

She has captured families, lovers, pets, and homes — each piece infused with the warmth of her touch. Her portraits have been gifted at weddings, treasured as memorials, and hung in homes across generations.

Elena has never advertised. She has never sold prints. Every work has been an original — one at a time, by hand.

This year, at age 68, she has decided it is time to retire and spend her final chapter with her husband, Jacques.

But before she closes her studio doors forever, Elena has agreed to create just 50 Final Portraits.

How does the process work?

  1. Upload your photo(s): Choose the picture you want Elena to paint from.
  2. Pick your background: Describe it in words or upload inspiration images.
  3. Elena paints your portrait: Hand-painted with 40+ years of experience.
  4. Receive your artwork: Get a digital file by email, or a canvas shipped to your door.

What if I want several people painted together?

Simply upload all the photos when you order.

I specialize in creating family portraits from multiple individual photos - reuniting grandparents with grandchildren they never met, painting couples from their separate childhood pictures, or bringing an entire family together on one canvas.

Each person will be painted with the same love and attention to detail.

What kind of photo should I upload?

A clear, well-lit photo works best! Don’t worry about perfection—Elena can bring out the best details.

How long does it take to get my portrait?

Elena usually needs 3–5 days to finish painting your portrait (or 24 hours with Priority Delivery).

If you order a physical print, shipping takes about 7 business days + 2 days for processing.

That means you can expect your physical painting to arrive in 10–14 business days from the time you place your order.

Can I get it faster?

Yes! With Priority Delivery, Elena will finish your portrait in 24 hours instead of 3–5 days. (If you choose a canvas, shipping time still applies.)

What’s the difference between a digital and physical painting?

Every portrait is hand-painted by Elena.

Digital Portrait: You’ll get a high-resolution file sent straight to your email. Perfect for printing yourself or sharing online.


Physical Canvas: We’ll print your finished portrait on a beautiful stretched canvas, ready to hang on your wall.

How will I receive my portrait?

Digital portraits are sent by email as a high-resolution file.

Physical canvases are shipped to your door once the painting is finished and printed.

What if I’m not happy with the result?

Elena wants you to truly love your portrait. If something doesn’t feel right, she offers up to 3 free revisions.

Simply contact her here, share your feedback, and she’ll adjust the artwork until it feels just right.

This rarely happens, but Elena is always happy to work with you.
